On January 30–31, 2024, a seminar on "Mobilizing Resources for Local Development" was held in the city of Osh, organized by the Public Foundation "Fair and Sustainable Development Solutions" (FSDS) under the project "Socio-Economic Development of Vulnerable Households." The main goal of the training was to strengthen the capacity of local communities to interact with local authorities and residents in attracting resources and investments to address socio-economic issues.
Fundraising is the process of collecting money and other resources to support socially significant projects. Other resources may include services, goods, equipment, information, and important contacts.
During the two-day seminar, participants gained extensive knowledge in the field of fundraising and innovative approaches, learned about best practices for solving social issues, and understood the importance of fundraising for local development. In the practical part of the training, participants also explored funding sources for local initiatives at the regional level and learned the rules for applying for grants from the Regional Development Fund of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The training aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of regional partners in community engagement and resource mobilization.
It is worth noting that the FSDS Public Foundation regularly conducts consultations and mentoring on effective interaction between local communities and authorities, the use of monitoring, evaluation, and data collection tools, as well as community engagement.
