Sagynbek kyzy Baktygul is an activist from the village of Bakiyan, Talas region. As a mother of young children, she manages to continue her self-development, education, and actively participates in trainings organized by the Public Foundation "Civil Participation" with the support of FSDS. Baktygul worked for many years as a Kyrgyz language teacher at a rural school, but when her daughter was born, she went on maternity leave. Two years later, when she returned to work at the school, she learned that the number of classes and teachers had been reduced, leading to her losing her job. This situation prompted Baktygul to come up with the idea of opening additional educational courses for schoolchildren, as she understood that the quality of education at the school had dropped, and many parents were eager to send their children to extra classes.
After participating in the project "Enhancing the Role of Youth and Women in Socio-Economic Development of Regions" implemented by the Public Foundation "Civil Participation" with the support of FSDS, Baktygul gained valuable knowledge and developed a business project to open an Educational Center offering courses for schoolchildren. The goal of the center was to create additional learning opportunities for children in the Bakiyan rural district and prepare them for the national test. Thanks to effective mentorship support from the project, Baktygul was able to establish partnerships with the "Entrepreneurship Development Fund for Women" and "Happiness Workshop" organizations and received financial support to purchase furniture, a computer, a printer, a board, and other equipment for the Educational Center. Additionally, the head of the Bakiyan village administration allocated a room for the Educational Center in the local culture house. Today, the center is fully operational.
