Project Goal:
Populations in vulnerable situations within communities affected by migration in priority regions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have social and economic opportunities to improve their sources of income.

Geographic Coverage:
Kyrgyzstan: Naryn, Issyk-Kul, Talas, Batken, Jalal-Abad regions, as well as cities of Chui region / Bishkek and Osh — which host the largest number of immigrants.

Tajikistan: Khatlon and Sughd regions — which host the largest number of immigrants and returnee migrants, as well as Dushanbe and its districts with high levels of poverty.

 

Key Results of the Project (2020–2021)

The Fair and Sustainable Development Solutions (FSDS) Public Foundation conducted a labor market analysis, including needs assessment and socio-economic evaluation.

  • 4,678 people participated in vocational and professional development training

  • 142 trainers were trained to build the capacity of youth in entrepreneurship, business planning, and career guidance

  • 7 entrepreneurship support centers were established (5 in Kyrgyzstan, 3 in Tajikistan)

  • 4,651 high school students attended career guidance seminars, 1,000 of them participated online

  • FSDS provided consulting services to 1,574 individuals from vulnerable population groups in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

  • 78 aspiring entrepreneurs received financial, technical, and advisory support to develop local small and medium-sized businesses

  • 855 people attended masterclasses and job fairs aimed at expanding access to market resources and employment opportunities for vulnerable groups

  • 527 people took part in public-private dialogue events focused on improving policies related to gender equality, youth, and women

  • 90 children of migrants received psychosocial and soft skills development support in pilot regions

  • 301 individuals received pre-departure adaptation counseling through the SAM partner platform, including online learning resources

    • Online reach: 11,693 internet users

  • A training module on leadership and civic engagement was developed, covering leadership, public policy, advocacy, and social project development

  • A feedback mechanism was created to inform citizens about issues in the project's pilot regions

  • 2 social media accounts were launched to highlight the activities of local organizations
